The Last Of Us Remastered isn’t the only Sony news today, or even the only zombie game the company seems to have in production at the moment.
The name H1Z1 is a reference to a 2009 Internet hoax based on the real H1N1 swine flu virus. Whether that means the final game will be called something different isn’t clear but the teaser website is simply www.h1z1.com
According to PC Gamer Sony registered the trademark back in January, and although the teaser image of a spooky-looking town doesn’t have any specific references to zombies the name certainly implies their presence.
H1Z1 is a new post-apocalyptic massively multiplayer online game from Sony Online Entertainment, SOE president John Smedley told Game Talk Live. The game will be playable “soon,” Smedley wrote on Twitter.
He also said, “You can play it yourself soon,” Smedley continued, hinting at an imminent launch for the project. “And by play I mean play fully.”
Like most of SOE’s stuff the game will probably initially be released on PC, but it’ll undoubtedly also come to the PlayStation 4 – given that PlanetSide 2 is already on its way and DC Universe Online appeared on the console from launch.
The latest tweet from Smedley suggests that the game will be show on a livestream Twitch channel named Game Talk Live today.
