Sony has announced that it will no longer support the Foursquare app for PS Vita. The location-tagging service has already been removed from the PlayStation Store, and will no longer be accessible from April 1.
“Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. will no longer support the foursquare app for PS Vita from 1 April 2014, and it has been removed from PlayStation Store from 12 February 2014,” said Sony in a statement.
“You’ll still be able to use your foursquare account on other mobile devices or the foursquare website, where your account information will be stored. We hope you’ll continue to enjoy the other social networking apps available for PS Vita.”
The news comes less than a month after Microsoft entered a deal with Foursquare to use the service’s places database for its products and services, including Bing and Windows Phone.
Foursquare will remain available for iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone and desktop-based hardware.
