Sony as promised has taken its developer kit for the PlayStation Move live. Move.me lets users create custom uses for the motion controller using a combination of a computer, a PS3, and the requisite PlayStation Eye camera. Examples of the uses can range from pure gaming to educational and even rehab programs where the controller can retrain muscles.
Schools and their students can sign up for an Academia Program at the Move.me page, where access to them is completely free. Hobbyists or private enterprise have to pay $100 for the kit on the PlayStation Store.
A full PlayStation Move kit with a camera costs $100 on top of the necessary PS3, but those who already have the PlayStation Eye can get the controllers by themselves for $50. The companion Navigation Controller isn’t the focus of Move.me but is available for $30 by itself.
