Sony has begun shipping a 3G equipped version of its 9.4-inch Tablet S in the UK. The company first revealed a Wi-Fi-only model of the device back in September, and indicated a 3G version would be following shortly. Unlike the Wi-Fi models, the 3G version is available only with 16GB of storage.
As with the Wi-Fi models, the Tablet S 16GB 3G runs on an NVIDIA Tegra 2 1GHz mobile processor. A rear-facing camera shoots at five megapixels, while the front-facing camera is a typical VGA camera good mostly for video chats. The 3G version differs from the Wi-Fi models in that it comes with Android 3.2 out of the box instead of having to be updated later.
The Sony Tablet S 16GB 3G lists only in the UK so far, for £549 ($857 USD). The 16GB Wi-Fi model sells for £350 ($545 USD), while a 32GB Wi-Fi model is priced at £430 ($430 USD). An American release isn’t yet certain
