Sony recently teased the existence of a new Google TV upgrade built for Sony television sets. The Bravia Smart Stick is a plug-in dongle not entirely unlike Google’s Chromecast accessory, as both devices plug directly into a television and enable Internet video streaming. Sony’s offering, though, appears tailored to Sony’s own television sets.

The Smart Stick runs Google TV and features all of the standard aspects of that platform. That includes voice control, Chrome browsing, and cable/satellite integration. Sony is also building in a range of Bravia TV apps to allow users to stay in a single menu in order to launch any apps.

The device will come with Netlix, Hulu Plus, Pandora, Amazon Prime Instant Video, and YouTube pre-installed. Other apps can be downloaded from Google Play.
