Star Ocean 5 has been announced for both consoles, having been teased by the games developer earlier this month. Square Enix wasted no time after unveiling Deus EX: Mankind Divided to start teasing yet another title through a website featuring a massive ocean seen from the stars.
It has now been revealed that Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness is being developed by original studio tri-Ace by the latest issue of Famitsu has revealed. The fifth installment will occur between Star Ocean 2 and Star Ocean 3, with the game’s protagonist named Fidel Camus.
A new prologue describing the game explains:
“Centuries after leaving Earth, after a multitude of trials, with the creation and spread of the ‘Galactic Federation, humanity was on the verge of unified order and peace.
“But the embers of conflict have begun to burn again.
“Over 6,000 light years from Earth, on the unsettled planet, ‘Faicreed.’
“Just as so many times before, the waves of history begin from a remote planet.”
New reports claim the game will feature “seamless realtime battles” where distance to the target will play a role in attack mechanics.It means there will be an assortment of attacks and abilities to be used at close and far distances.
The new Star Ocean title is said to be already 30% complete, but doesn’t feature a set launch date.
