While the 2016 Star Wars Celebration won’t kick off until this July, Lucasfilm has officially announced that Star Wars Celebration 2017 will take place in Orlando, Florida from April 13-16, 2017, at the Orange County Convention Center. Tickets for the event, including 4-day, single-day, and VIP, will go on sale Wednesday, May 25, at 12:00 p.m. PT/3:00 p.m. ET/9:00 p.m. GMT
“Star Wars Celebration has always been about the fans,” said Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm. “It allows Lucasfilm to connect directly with the thousands of fans who have given their dedication and support to the world of Star Wars over the years, and is the perfect opportunity for us to give something back.”
Guest and event announcements for Star Wars Celebration 2017 in Orlando will begin soon at StarWarsCelebration.com and StarWars.com.
Last year’s Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim with an estimated 50,000 fans in attendance. Much of the event was live streamed on StarWars.com where a number of trailers made their debut including the second teaser for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, an official reveal of Star Wars Battlefront, and the first look at Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
With 2017’s event coming just months after the release of Rogue One, we can likely expect announcements about Star Wars: Episode VIII and plenty of exclusive merchandise to reflect the 40th anniversary of the original film’s release.
