Google today promoted an early employee to the head of YouTube. Susan Wojcicki has been shuffled from vice president of advertising and commerce to helm the video serving service. Ex-head Salar Kamangar will be retained at Google, to work on projects at the search firm which are still in infancy.
Wojcicki studied history and literature at Harvard University and graduated with honors in 1990. She also received her master’s in economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1993 and a Master’s in Business Administration from the UCLA Anderson School of Management in 1998. Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin set up the initial Google efforts in Wojcicki’s garage.
