Scoring an Emmy for helming all six episodes of The Night Manager (A must see) and ahead of the release of her Sandra Bullock-led sci-fi thriller Bird Box on Netflix next month, filmmaker Susanne Bier has signed on to helm all six episodes of the upcoming HBO series The Undoing.
Nicole Kidman stars as Grace Sachs who is living the only life she ever wanted for herself. She’s a successful New York therapist, has a devoted husband and young son who attends an elite private school. Overnight a chasm opens in her life: a violent death, a missing husband, and a chain of terrible revelations.
Left behind in the wake of a spreading and very public disaster, and horrified by the ways in which she has failed to heed her own advice, Grace must dismantle one life and create another for her child and herself. “Big Little Lies” and “Boston Legal” writer/producer David E. Kelley will serve as showrunner, writer, and executive producer.
The story is based on the book You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelit who also serves as an executive producer alongside Big Little Lies producing trio Kidman, Bruna Papandrea and Per Saari.
