SwiftKey integrated keyboard for iOS was introduced back in September. The iPhone and iPad apps have been updated today to include new features, including predictive emoji along with text. Now offering predictions of whatever word or phrase users may be typing, they may see emoji of coffee cups and crying cat faces pop up for you to choose from. SwiftKey supports 34 different languages, with 11 of them just added.
Among the new language additions are Icelandic, Indonesian, and Russian. Optional keyboard sounds have also been added as well, bringing back the concept of an audible keypress. On the iPad, users will be able to type with gestures, a feature that was already available on the iPhone version.
The Swiftkey keyboard installs the same as any other app under iOS 8, which was the first version to offer alternative keyboards beyond the built-in one. Once it’s installed, the keyboard can be selected with the glove button on the regular keyboard, or users can make it the default by going into the General tab of the settings and moving it to the top of the keyboard list.
SwiftKey Keyboard is available for free on iTunes.
