Syfy has canceled the horror series Ghost Wars after its debut 13-episode season. The series premiered in October 2017.
Created by Simon Barry (Continuum, Van Helsing), Ghost Wars was an acquisition title for the cable network. Set in a remote Alaskan town that has been overrun by paranormal forces, the series focuses on local outcast Roman Mercer (Avan Jogia) who must overcome the town’s prejudices and his own personal demons if he’s to harness his repressed psychic powers and save everyone from the mass haunting that’s threatening to destroy them all.
Ghost Wars starred Vincent D’Onofrio, Kim Coates, Avan Jogia, Kristin Lehman and Meatloaf. David Von Ancken directed the pilot while Barry helmed two episodes. Other directors included Leslie Hope, Michael Nankin, Mathias Herdndl, and Jason Priestley. Nomadic Pictures’ Chad Oakes and Mike Frislev served as executive producers with Barry, Dennis Heaton and Von Ancken.
