Telus has just announced the Xperia Ray will be offered exclusively at its stores and online starting for the Canadian market on November 2. The Android 2.3-powered smartphone from Sony Ericsson will mark a first at Telus, and is just 9.4mm thin and housed in an aluminum frame. It sports an 8.1-megapixel camera with an Exmor R low-light sensor.
The Ray can connect to DLNA devices such as TVs and DVD or Blu-ray players to share multimedia content. Facebook like on other 2011 Sony Ericsson phones comes integrated, allowing users to integrated contacts and photo albums to tag as well as view without going to another app. A text gesture input is also integrated, though it may not be from Swype. A 3.3-inch, 854×480 touchscreen acts as the interface.
The Xperia Ray will cost $50 CAD (about $50) on a three-year contract.
