The CW has handed out straight-to-series orders for both the Arrowverse spinoff series “Superman & Lois” and the reimagining of “Walker, Texas Ranger”.
Walker will star Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki as Texas Ranger Cordell Walker, a widower and father of two with his own moral code, who returns home to Austin after being undercover for two years. He attempts to reconnect with his kids, find unexpected common ground with his new female partner, and determine the truth about the circumstances surrounding his wife’s death.
That series is written and produced by Anna Fricke (“Being Human,” “Valor”) and executive produced by Dan Lin and Lindsay Liberatore as well as Padalecki.
Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch will reprise their roles of Superman/Clark Kent and Lois Lane for Superman & Lois. Hoechlin has played Superman several times for the various The CW shows, most notably Supergirl, while Tulloch has played Lois in two Arrowverse ‘crossover events’ for the network.
Superman & Lois is written and executive produced by Todd Helbing (The Flash) and executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Geoff Johns.
