Craig Zobel-directed dark satire The Hunt made headlines in August fbut it was good press
The film’s trailer was released at the end of July, right afterwords came three mass shootings which caused Universal understandably decided to hold off on marketing and releasing a film which involved people killing each other. The film also found itself in political No man’s land.
Now the studio has finally set on a new release plan with dropping a new trailer for it along with a poster.
The film which follows twelve strangers who mysteriously wake up in a forest clearing only to discover that they are being hunted for sport by a group of rich liberal elites.
Betty Gilpin, Ike Barinholtz, Hilary Swank, Emma Roberts, Ethan Suplee and Justin Hartley star, while
Jason Blum and Damon Lindelof produce the film.
The Hunt is set to open theatrically on Friday, March 13th.
