Several familiar characters from the nine films that make up the Star Wars ‘Skywalker Saga’ are set to appear in the second season of the Disney+ streaming service’s The Mandalorian series currently in production.
Deadline broke the news in a report which doesn’t specify which of the films the characters will come from. However, because the series is set five years post-Return of the Jedi it will most likely deal with characters from the original trilogy.
The first season recently closed out with the titular bounty hunter (Pedro Pascal) parting ways with allies Cara Dune (Gina Carano) and Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) before setting off to reunite ‘The Child’ with its own kind.
The recent season also left open one obvious avenue for return – namely the mysterious figure who appears on Tatooine in the fifth episode who surveys the corpse left behind.
Series creator Jon Favreau recently announced the second season will premiere on Disney+ in Fall 2020.
