A year and a half ago,the announcement came that Toki Tori 2 was in development. It’s taken ‘a bit’ longer than expected, but that shouldn’t have come as a surprise for long time Two Tribes followers.
As per to their blog they had planned to release Toki Tori 2 in March, but had to resubmit to Nintendo because of a crash bug they missed. The original release date fell during the GDC in San Francisco so they moved to accommodate that too since
“During GDC, all eyes are on that event and the news coming out of it, so we decided to do it the week after. You may have noticed a lot is riding for us on the success of Toki Tori 2, so we hope you do not mind waiting two more weeks!”
So according to the folks at Two Tribes, this means you still have time to:
Get a Wii U, if you don’t have one yet.
Finish those pesky last few puzzles in the original Toki Tori (we hear that some people have solved everything, so it must be possible).
Brush up on your Toki Theory by reading all of our blog archive.
Cancel your vacation, because this is one big game!
But….another quote from Two Tribes, indicates fans should be cautiously hopeful…
“Then there’s the small matter of Toki Tori 2 still being in the hands of Nintendo’s certification team. Ideally we’d wait until they approved it fully, but this time PAX East is the one wreaking havoc on our schedule. So we’re taking a small risk by already announcing it today, but we’re confident it’ll pass in time.”
But they did send along a new trailer to get you stoked for the release:
