It has been known for sometime that there would a heavier Chinese presence in the upcoming Transformers 4. From casting Chinese actors to setting much of the film in China, it’s certainly shaping up to be a little different from the previous films.
China.org.cn is reporting that a deal has been signed between the producers of the film and Chinese hotel company Beijing Pangu. In exchange for some financing, the flagship building Pangu Plaza Hotel will be featured and destroyed in the upcoming movie. In addition, the National Stadium and Beijing National Aquatic Center will make an appearance in the film, but whether or not they’re reduced to rubble remains to be seen.
Opening in theaters on June 27, 2014, the fourth installment stars Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles, Li Bingbing and T.J. Miller.
