Twitter has published an updated version of its official Mac client, v2.1. The upgrade makes a host of enhancements, most notably support for multiple windows. The interfaces for windows, user profiles and message conversations have been redesigned, and usernames and hashtags can now autocomplete.
For more technically savvy users the software has gained a developer console, as well as support for AppleScript. More minor changes include font size preferences, sticky Live Stream preferences, and better display of t.co links. Underneath the hood are miscellaneous bugfixes and performance tweaks.
Twitter for Mac is a free download from the Mac App Store. The file is 2.4MB, and requires only Mac OS X 10.6 or later.
