U.S. Cellular has announced that it will bring the Motorola Electrify to its US customers. Much like the Photon 4G, the Electrify is a dual mode, Android 2.3 smartphone with 4.3-inch 540×960 display, front facing VGA-quality camera and eight-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash. A kickstand is incorporated into the phone chassis, and the Electrify also has the Photon 4G’s docking station. The handset has an HDMI out for full HD video. Onboard memory is 16GB, expandable to 48GB. TheElectrify does not have the Photon 4G’s broadband capability.
The Electrify will be available from U.S. Cellular for $200 after a $100 mail-in rebate. Purchase of a data plan is required. US Cellular said it would make an announcement regarding availability “in the coming weeks.”
