This November, President Snow’s iron-fisted rule over Panem is coming to an end one way or another when The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 completes the blockbuster film franchise. In promotion of the grand finale, Lionsgate has traveled the world over, unveiling new minimalist #Unite teaser posters featuring the iconic ‘3-Finger salute’ on high profile buildings, billboards and locations, including Times Square in New York, Westfield Centre in London, Colonne di San Lorenzo in Milan and Novy Arbat Avenue in Moscow. The hands used in the synchronized global outdoor advertising campaign were created from six images of people ranging from ages eight to 80, both men and women and from all nationalities. You can check out the six posters in the gallery viewer below and then find an additional 20 images showing off their international placement.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 is directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay by Peter Craig and Danny Strong and features a cast that also includes Academy Award-winner Jennifer Lawrence, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Willow Shields, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone with Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland reprising their original roles from The Hunger Games and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. In the film, the nation of Panem is in the midst of a full scale war. Katniss (Lawrence) confronts President Snow (Sutherland) for a final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale (Hemsworth), Finnick (Claflin), and Peeta (Hutcherson) – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.
The film will be released in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D theaters on November 20, 2015.
