Verizon Wireless and AT&T have responded to recent analyst estimates that state the Motorola XOOM tablet and the ATRIX 4G smartphone have not been selling well since launch. Both carriers have said that they are pleased with the current sales and performance of the devices, despite what analysts say.
Verizon Wireless, who carries the Motorola XOOM tablet, has stated to Computerworld that “we are pleased with customer response to the Xoom,” without revealing actual sales figures. Estimates have put sales of the XOOM right around 100,000 since launch, well behind the millions estimated for Apple’s iPad 2.
AT&T also issued a statement regarding the comments made about the sales of its ATRIX 4G smartphone, also made by Motorola. “Our customers are very satisfied with the Atrix, and we are equally as pleased with the results to date,” said the carrier. Analysts had stated that the smartphone and its accompanying laptop dock have sold well below forecasts.
