Posted by at 1:15 am on December 16, 2013

Verizon Wireless has completed its planned acquisition of select assets from U.S. Cellular. Specifically, Verizon is snagging some of U.S. Cellular’s spectrum, networking gear, and customers in the St. Louis, Mo., metropolitan area.

The spectrum licenses cover approximately 110,000 POPs in an area greater than 1,700 square miles. U.S. Cellular customers in the affected region will receive a welcome letter from Verizon in the coming weeks. Verizon will continue to operate the assets as U.S. Cellular until Verizon completes its LTE build-out in the region, which is expected by mid-2014.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
