Verizon Wireless has announced that customers in San Diego will have access to its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network in more places when the company expands its 4G LTE network on Sept. 20 in Otay Mesa and the Eastlake area of Chula Vista.

The 4G LTE expansion area includes the Eastlake area of Chula Vista, including the Olympic Training Center, and continues south along State Route 125 into the Otay Mesa area to the United States-Mexico border.

Verizon Wireless has announced its intention to provide 4G LTE coverage in 400 markets across the United States before the end of 2012.

“The expansion of our 4G LTE network enables customers in more parts of San Diego to stay in touch like never before – uploading, downloading and connecting online with speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G,” said Luis Cruz, Southern California Regional President, Verizon Wireless. “We will continue expanding and enhancing our 4G LTE network in Southern California and across the country to provide our customers with the best wireless experience possible and enable them to take advantage of the innovations that are being brought to market through 4G LTE technology.”

For customers with new 4G LTE-enabled devices or looking to purchase 4G LTE-enabled devices, Verizon Wireless offers in-store and online Wireless Workshops. For more information, visit a local Verizon Wireless Communications Store or www.verizonwireless.com/workshops.
