An anonymous slip Tuesday hinted that Verizon may get both a cheaper Galaxy Nexus and new colors at the same time. Sources told Droid-Life that the company would get 16GB versions of both the existing silver and the previously international-only white edition. No 32GB white model would exist in a likely attempt to avoid overstock.
Prices weren’t handed out, although it’s possible Verizon will mirror the RAZR’s price cut. If so, the 16GB Nexus would cost just $199 on contract and would be much more competitive. Most have considered the $299 starting price point too cost-prohibitive.
Launch timing was only described as the “very near future,” which implied it could be as soon as this week. Verizon usually picks Thursdays for all but its largest phone releases.
