Verizon has released a new Verizon FiOS Mobile application for Android smartphones that can stream live TV to handsets. The application lets Android device owners access 75 live TV channels, as well as on-demand content from Starz and Encore.
The app takes features from the Verizon Media Manager and FiOS Mobile Remote apps to allow Android device owners access and interact with their DVR, view their guide, and manage recordings. Live TV streaming requires that users have FiOS TV and FiOS internet services, and it only works in the home. Verizon’s Flex View on-demand content can be watched from anywhere, though. According to Verizon, it has more than 40,000 television shows and movies available for streaming.
Verizon FiOS Mobile works on Android smartphones and tablets running version 2.3.3 Gingerbread and up.
