When Huawei announced the Ascend Mate at CES earlier this year, it boasted that the device had the world’s largest phone screen. Indeed, this 6.1-inch device is more tablet than it is phone.
The Ascend Mate is now available for purchase in the United Kingdom. Vodafone has revealed that the phone is officially in stock, having revealed plans to stock the device earlier this month. You can pick it up for free on a £25 a month plan with 600 minutes, unlimited texts and 500 MB of data. If contracts don’t do it for you, you can buy the phone on Pay-As-You-Go for £300.
Powered by Huawei’s Hi-Silicon 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, the Ascend Mate runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Alongside an 8-megapixel camera and a 4050 mAh battery, the device offers 32 GB of internal storage, 2 GB of RAM, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and Huawei’s own Emotion UI.
