Wacom Adds Multi-Touch to Cintiq 24HD Display

Wacom has introduced a new version of its Cintiq 24HD input device. The 24HD touch brings multi-touch to the display alongside the already existing pen-based input. Gesture controls are included, which is seen as useful to those in certain creative industries, allowing a designer to move around a model more easily when working in 3D.

The display also has a higher 30-bit color depth, allowing for 1.07 billion colors rather than the 16.77 million of the more-standard displays, covering 97-percent of Adobe’s RGB color space. Just like the 24HD, Express Keys and Touch Rings on the sides add extra workflow options. Accepting analog RGB, digital DVI, and Displayport for graphics input, it also has a USB port, 2048 levels of sensitivity with the stylus, and a highly customizable stand.

The Cintiq 24HD touch is expected to ship in August for $3700.
