TruConnect, which is an MVNO that piggybacks on Sprint’s network, has introduced two new Internet on the Go plans on Thursday that rely on a mobile hotspot. The Go Big and Go Bigger plans will be available to purchase only through Walmart stores. Neither requires a contract plan and mainly differ on the amount data the plan includes and when that data expires .
The Go Big plans have three tiers, starting at a 500MB/$10 option, going onto a 1.5GB/$25 offering and culminating in a 4GB/$45 choice. The data needs to be used up within a year of activation.
The Go Bigger plan offers up to 8GB of data which expires after 30 days. Pricing is set at 1GB for $10, 3GB for $25, and 8GB for $45.
All options require a MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot that can connect to up to five Wi-Fi devices. The hardware is priced at $79.88 at Walmart, and new users who buy the hotspot and their first allotment of data will get an extra 3GB. There are no associated activation or overage fees.
