Walt Disney Pictures has taken screenwriter Larry Brenner’s original pitch for a fantasy adventure called Labyrinth, Deadline reports.
While it shares a few of the same narrative elements, the project is unrelated to Jim Henson’s 1986 project, which starred Jennifer Connelly and David Bowie.
This Labyrinth follows a princess who has to traverse a dangerous maze in order to save her father.
Brenner landed on the 2011 “Black List” of unproduced screenplays for his Bethlehem. That film is now set up at Universal Pictures.
Jim Whitaker is attached to serve as producer on Labyrinth.
