Warner Bros. Pictures has today updated its upcoming big screen release schedule, setting dates for Ben Affleck’s Live By Night movie, the Ice Cube and Charlie Day comedy Fist Fight, and a mystery event film. All three films will arrive in 2017, beginning with Fist Fight on February 17. The mystery event film will follow on August 11 with the Live By Night movie then arriving October 20.
Fist Fight, which also stars Tracy Morgan, Dean Norris, Jillian Bell and Christina Hendricks, follows a meek teacher (Day) who is challenged to a fist fight by his much tougher colleague (Cube).
Fist Fight‘s February 17, 2017 release date will have the comedy facing off against some stiff competition. That weekend is set to bring about the debut chapter of The Dark Tower franchise, the final chapter of The Maze Runner series, The Death Cure, and, also from Warner Bros., the fantasy epic The Great Wall.
The mystery event film, meanwhile, will go up against Sony Pictures Animation’s The Emoji Movie.
The Live By Night movie, finally, is set to be directed by Affleck, who also stars alongside Elle Fanning, Sienna Miller, Zoe Saldana, Chris Messina and Chris Cooper. An adaptation of Dennis Lehane’s 2012 prohibition era thriller, the Live By Night movie will open opposite an as of yet unrevealed project from Blumhouse Productions.
Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Davisson Killoran and Jennifer Todd are producing the Live By Night movie alongside Affleck, who also adapted the screenplay.
