It appears that Marvel Studios has launched an Ant-Man viral of sorts with a new teaser video straight from the MCU! In the player below, you can watch a WHIH World News update that bridges the gap between this summer’s Avengers: Age of Ultron and the July 17 release. What’s more, the video is hosted by Christine Everhart! Everhart, Marvel aficionados will recall, first appeared in 2008’s Iron Man, played by Leslie Bibb. Bibb later reprised the role for a brief appearance in 2010’s Iron Man 2.
It also appears that something is being planned for next week as the faux news show’s Twitter feed claims that the Ant-Man viral will continue with an exclusive report on Scott Lang (played in the upcoming film by Paul Rudd). Check back for it right here on Tuesday, July 7!
Ant-Man also stars Evangeline Lilly (“LOST,” The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies) and Michael Douglas (The Game, And So It Goes) and brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time. Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang (Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
Also starring Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Wood Harris, Judy Greer and David Dastmalchian, Ant-Man features a script by Edgar Wright, Joe Cornish, Paul Rudd and Adam McKay and is directed by Peyton Reed. Ant-Man opens in theaters on July 17.
