Ubisoft will release the Wii U version of its open-world stealth hacking game, Watch Dogs, Nov. 18 in North America, the company announced today.
The Wii U version will feature new functions specific to the console. During play, the world map will be displayed on the GamePad. The Wii U version also includes Off-TV play, which allows users to play the game on the GamePad and away from the Wii U.
Watch Dogs launched in May for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. In March, senior producer Dominic Guay told Polygon that a 2014 ship date for the Wii U game was still a “possibility.” According to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, the company has been freezing the Wii U launch of completed games in order to wait for a larger install base.
