When LG announced its flexible smarthone, the G Flex, last month, the fact that this phone could bend wasn’t actually the most intriguing feature. We’d been hearing about the G Flex for a couple of months, so we were expecting a flexible and/or curved phone. What we weren’t expecting was the self-healing back LG put on the rear-side of the phone.
Designed to protect the phone against the scrapes and scratches inflicted by everyday wear and tear, this is a feature that has to be seen to be believed. The self-healing feature showed up on an LG video earlier this month. Now, a video showing a more intense test of this feature is doing the rounds and this one didn’t come from LG.
Check Marques Brownlee’s video below, which shows off the self-healing ability of the G Flex, as well as the phone’s flexibility. Interestingly, Brownlee found that you can actually accelerate the healing process by rubbing the phone to warm it up.
