The series premiere of Watchmen scored 1.5 million multiplatform viewers across HBO’s platforms last night. making it the strongest digital debut for an HBO series since the premiere of Westworld in 2016.
Watchmen is sequel series to the Dave Gibbons and Alan Moore’s iconic graphic novel, the 9pm airing alone snagged 800,000 viewers, making it premium cable’s most-watched new series debut this year. Ratings were also 21% above last week’s “Succession” second season finale.
Jeremy Irons, Regina King, Jean Smart, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Adelaide Clemens, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, Lily Rose Smith and Adelynn Spoon star in the series.
