We already know Ellen DeGeneres and Albert Brooks will be reprising their Finding Nemo voice roles as Dory and Marlin, respectively, in Andrew Stanton’s upcoming sequel, Finding Dory, the status of several of the original film’s other key players has yet to be confirmed. Well today we learn that Willem Dafoe told Total Film that he’s not only coming back, he’s already begun production.
“Yeah I’ve already started,” Dafoe tells the outlet. “It’s even better than the first. It’s fantastic.”
DeGeneres, Brooks and Dafoe are joined by newcomers Diane Keaton, Eugene Levy and Ty Burrell for the June 17, 2016 release which takes place about a year after the first film. Set in part along the California coastline, the story also welcomes a host of new characters, including a few who will prove to be a very important part of Dory’s life.
