Microsoft’s long-promised HBO Go support for the Xbox 360 was confirmed late last night as arriving on April 1. Americans with the current-generation Xbox Dashboard interface will have the option of watching the network’s shows through a signed-in console, whether or not they’re at home. The timing dovetails with the start of the second season of Game of Thrones and serves as a catch-up service.
As with other forms of HBO Go, watching still requires a cable or satellite TV package with HBO included to qualify to watch. Viewers authenticate to clear a given console rather than resorting to IP-based checks or others that might limit access.
