ABC has pushed back the season premiere of “Beyond the Tank” by a week and will instead air a repeat of new Sunday drama “Quantico” in its place next Tuesday.
The network announced Thursday that “Beyond the Tank,” an offshoot of the popular Friday series “Shark Tank,” is now set to bow on Oct. 6. The show is only scheduled for a short run, filling the Tuesday 10 p.m. timeslot until new drama “Wicked City” bows on Oct. 27.
“Quantico,” which has generated some of the fall’s best reviews among new series, debuts this Sunday at 10. Launching new series in Sunday’s 10 o’clock hour has proven difficult for networks in recent years, so an extra airing can only help boost awareness for the show.
Ironically, “Quantico” was originally scheduled to air Tuesdays at 10, but ABC moved it to Sundays at 10 when the program that was originally scheduled for the hour, newcomer “Of Kings and Prophets,” was pulled.
“Quantico” is about a diverse group of recruits training at the FBI Quantico Base. They are the best and the brightest, so it seems impossible that one of them is suspected of masterminding the biggest attack on New York City since 9/11.
