Allison Schroeder Will Co-Pen The Frozen Sequel

Allison Schroeder (Hidden Figures) has signed on to co-write the long-awaited sequel to 2013’s movie phenomenon Frozen at Disney Pictures.

Jennifer Lee, who scripted and co-directed the first film, will remain as the primary writer on the film. However Schroeder will offer assistance on the scripting duties, and has been enlisted following Lee’s promotion to chief creative officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios in the wake of John Lasseter’s departure.

Schroeder previously worked with the studio on the fantasy dramedy “Christopher Robin which is in theaters now . Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel and Josh Gad are all expected to return for the new film, while Sterling K. Brown and Evan Rachel Wood are joining the cast this time out.

The first Frozen was not only the highest-grossing film of its year and highest-grossing animated film of all-time with over $1.2 billion grossed worldwide, it also received Oscars for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song. The sequel, to be co-directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, will come to theater on November 27th of next year.
