The upcoming Amazon App Store will be the first place to get the new Angry Birds Rio game for the Android platform. At the same time, Android users for the first time will have the option to buy ad-free versions of Angry Birds and Angry Birds Seasons. How long Amazon will enjoy exclusive rights isn’t known, as the Android Market will get it soon afterwards. The release of the game for the iOS platform at the Apple App Store will not be affected.
Rovio has worked in conjunction with Fox on the game. In it, gamers will play to release Blu and Jewel, characters from the movie studio’s upcoming movie, Rio. The movie opens on April 15 worldwide, while the game will launch with 60 levels, and more will be downloadable at a later date.
When the app launches hasn’t been revealed, but users can sign up for updates on Amazon’s Angry Birds Rio web page.
