Amazon.com and CBS renewed and extended their content-licensing agreement pact to offer older series from the network— including “Medium” and all episodes of the original “Star Trek” — plus select Showtime Networks original shows.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The companies didn’t reveal the scope of the content covered except to say a “vast catalog of CBS content” will be available for Amazon Prime members for streaming.
Under the agreement, Amazon Prime Instant Video customers will continue to get CBS TV series such as “Medium,” the complete “Star Trek” franchise and “I Love Lucy,” along with Showtime’s “The Tudors.” New titles will include CBS’s “Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior” and “Vegas,” and Showtime’s “Penn & Teller: Bullshit!”
In previous deals, CBS has exclusively licensed past seasons of “The Good Wife” and the first season of “Under the Dome” to Amazon.com, and has similar pacts for this summer’s “Extant” and “Under the Dome” Season 2. In the deals for “Dome” and “Extant,” new episodes become available to Prime members four days after air.
