Joining the ranks of Stephen Colbert and Barack Obama, Anderson Cooper is going to be a comic-book character.
The CNN anchor will appear in the 12th issue of Marvel’s Black Widow series, by writer Nathan Edmonson and artist Phil Noto. Just like in real life, comic-book Cooper will be a news anchor, breaking a story on the titular heroine. While Black Widow, a.k.a. Natasha Romanova, has a relatively high profile as a member of the Avengers, her history as a covert operative means there are plenty of things she’d prefer the world not knowing about. Cooper’s character, then, is about to make life very difficult for her.
The Black Widow was created by Stan Lee, Don Rico, and Don Heck in 1964 and most famously portrayed by Scarlett Johansson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Black Widow #12 is out in November.
