Making some additions to its library of backward-compatible games for Wii U, Nintendo has updated the Wii U eShop with the inclusion of Nintendo DS’s Animal Crossing: Wild World and Kirby Canvas Curse in its existing roster.
Fans who had already moved on to a better hardware but have not on these two popular Nintendo titles can now re-play these games on their up-to-date console. Interested gamers who wanted to get these original Nintendo DS games for Wii U can now avail them at $9.99 each, as per the company’s website. Like any other DS games that made it to Wii U to be run with the Virtual Console, Animal Crossing: Wild World and Kirby Canvas Curse will be playable with the Wii U’s gamepad off-screen.
Collectors and fans of the Kirby franchise who already had Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, a console exclusive, may find this recent addition of Canvas Curse to be a boon to their collecting habits as they are now able to get the game on a single platform, apart from the original.
Previous players of Kirby Canvas Curse may remember it as the handheld’s early title which makes use of the hardware’s touchscreen capability that was unique to handheld gaming during its time. There, players take the control of Kirby, the squishy figure who transforms accordingly to the enemy he consumes, as he goes on in an adventure that is as colorful as he turns out to be.
Fans of Animal Crossing, on the other hand, can now relive their gaming experience on the Wii U with Wild World, a game beloved for its then innovating features like online multiplayer gameplay, varied communication options and enhanced customization.
