Though it comes as no big surprise given that J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII is already in production there, Pinewood Studios is confirmed to be the home of at least one additional Star Wars film. George Osborne, England’s Chancellor of the Exchequer & MP for Tatton, tweeted the following:
On set of Episode VII tonight, can announce another #StarWars film will be made in UK. A #LongTermEconomicPlan in a galaxy far far away

Shortly thereafter, he tweeted the below image of himself standing alongside Abrams, Kathleen Kennedy and a very familiar astromech droid in front what appears to be an in-construction Millennium Falcon set!

This specific project is likely to be the Gareth Edwards-directed 2016 release, but it’s also a safe bet that Star Wars has found a home at Pinewood for the forseeable future. In the meantime, we’ve got Star Wars: Episode VII confirmed to hit the big screen on December 18, 2015 with a cast that includes the returning Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker with new additions John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie and Max von Sydow.
