Yesterday, Apple released an update to increase the support for RAW images from more digital SLR cameras. The Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 6.20 now allows Mac desktops to display images for 13 more cameras that use the file format, typically used for images that are unprocessed and uncompressed by the camera itself, with the new support covering imaging devices from Canon, Olympus, Panasonic, and Sony.
The Mac Observer reports the new additions include the Canon EOS-1D X Mark II, EOS 80D, PowerShot G7 X Mark II, and the EOS Rebel T6, also known as the EOS 1300D and Kiss X80 in other markets. For Panasonic, the list includes the Lumix DMC-GF8, GX7 Mark II, GX80, GX85, ZS100, TZ100, and TX 1. Rounding out the list are the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 III and the Olympus PEN-F.
The Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 6.20 is available through the Mac App Store updating system, or as a standalone download from Apple’s support site weighing in at 8.1MB.
