Apple has updated the Apple Music app for Android, with the principle feature of offering a home-screen widget to allow for playback control without opening the full app.
Similar in nature to the lock-screen controls when iTunes is playing, the Android widget allows users to pause, skip back a track, skip forward a track, mark songs as favorites, and shows a thumbnail image of the album from which the song is drawn.
The updated Android app can now also use iTunes gift cards to pay for membership, and there is a Radio tab that shows what song is playing on Beats 1 before selecting the station. There are some other minor tweaks.
Version 0.9.7 of the app is available from the Google Play store.
