Bad Boys for Life, the third in film in that Bad Boys action franchise, is tracking for a $40-45 million four-day MLK holiday weekend opening.
The numbers are far from the record-breaking $107.2 million Clint Eastwood’s American Sniper did in 2015 in the same weekend.
Bad Boys II grossed $273.3 million worldwide in 2003. The new one sees police inspector Marcus Burnett (Lawrence) and midlife crisis suffering Mike Lowery (Smith) unite again when an Albanian mercenary, whose brother they killed, seeks revenge.
