Supergiant Games is bringing role-playing game Bastion to Xbox One next month. In anticipation of the current-gen port, owners of the original release on Xbox 360 will get copies of the new version free, the company announced on its blog.
Xbox One owners can pick up Bastion on Dec. 12, while the deal for those who have the last-gen version is valid through Jan. 1, 2017. Otherwise, the game will cost $14.99 at launch, just as it does now on Xbox 360.
As for what’s different with the Xbox One release, Supergiant said it’s mostly just the same old Bastion — but isn’t a simple backward-compatible release. On Xbox One, the game outputs in 1080p and has additional achievements to strive to earn, as well as the Stranger’s Dream downloadable content pack.
Bastion first launched just over five years ago, making the Xbox One version a celebratory re-release for the game. It’s also available on PS4 and Vita, Windows, although it made its debut on the Xbox Live Arcade in 2011.
