Broadway and film veteran Bette Midler has agreed to accept a guest role on the hit Fox series Glee.
Creator Ryan Murphy made the request to Midler on stage Monday night as he appeared at the God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards Ceremony.
Murphy tweeted from the event “I just asked the incredible Bette Midler to be on Glee in front of 1,000 people. I hope she says yes!” His wish came when Midler tweeted back an affimative reply adding that “I should get out more”
Midler’s character has yet to be determined, she reported via another tweet that “I have one vote for Rachel’s grandmother….” other Glee fans (me for one) would rather see her appear as herself, maybe meeting up with the Glee alums currently living in NYC.
