The U.S. electric scooter company Bird is launching a pilot sharing program in London, which still bans the devices from its streets and sidewalks.
To get around the legal hurdle, the company is only making its e-scooters available in London’s Olympic Park, which is not owned by the city.
Each scooter is equipped with a GPS monitor that turns off its power once it strays outside the park.
Bird has been negotiating with U.K. and London authorities since last year, Bloomberg previously reported.
