Beginning on December 1st, BlackBerry will be offering up to $550 for people willing to trade in an iPhone towards the purchase of a Passport. Shoppers will be able to trade anything from an iPhone 4S through to an iPhone 6, and receive a $150 “top-up” in addition to the phone’s actual estimated value. Hitting the $550 mark requires a mint-condition iPhone 6 valued at $400.
Buyers can expect up to $240 in total for a 4S, $300 for a 5, or $385 for a 5s. Notably, the cap on the 5c is $280, even though it’s a slightly improved version of the 5. BlackBerry is presenting adjusted amounts in its home country of Canada; the top-up for instance becomes $200 CAD, and the maximum cash return becomes $600 CAD.
To qualify for the Trade Up program, people must buy a Passport between December 1st and February 13th, and mail in their old iPhone within 30 days. The process can be completed through the BlackBerry website or Amazon
